The business analytic company PitchBook has just released their updated university rankings for VC-backed entrepreneurs.
The University of California system has five universities in the top 50 universities with VC-backed undergraduate entrepreneurs: UC Berkeley (#3), UCLA (#15), UCSD (#26), UCSB (#42), UC Davis (#44). When looking at VC backing of female, undergraduate entrepreneurs, UC Berkeley comes in at #3. University rankings (VC-backed undergraduate entrepreneurs) by total capital raised ($) has UC Berkeley (#2) and UCLA (#15). An interesting ranking looks at universities producing “unicorns” or companies that achieve a private valuation of $1BB or more. In that ranking, UC Berkeley comes in at #3!.
University rankings by VC-backed MBA entrepreneurs has UC Berkeley (#9) and UCLA (#11) while ranking by total capital ($) raised has UC Berkeley (#9) and UCLA (#11) again. For VC backing of female MBA entrepreneurs, UC Berkeley comes in at (#7).
