When requesting to receive datasets from some governmental agencies, the agency will require a specific process that involves obtaining the signature of the Information Security Officer (ISO) signoff and Senior Official (SO) final institutional sign-off for government licenses to use datasets with personally identifiable information (PII) or personal health information (PHI). Example sources of these data sets include the Institute for Education Sciences and federal or state Departments of Health. The Office of Technology and Industry Alliances can facilitate putting an agreement in place. All licenses that require security signoff must use a process implemented by the UCSB Office of Information Technology. To learn more about this process, please go to:
